What the LEI Search app does
The app is a mobile companion to leisearch.com, connected to the same GLEIF-sourced dataset of over 2.7 million Legal Entity Identifiers. You can:
- Search by company name, LEI code, or BIC/SWIFT, the same unified search we offer on the web.
- Verify entity status, active, lapsed, retired, at a glance.
- Check renewal and registration dates for any LEI.
- Save entities to a watchlist and get notified about status changes.
- View jurisdiction, legal form, and registration authority pulled directly from the GLEIF golden copy.
Why an LEI app matters
LEIs are the global standard for identifying legal entities in financial transactions. They are mandatory under MiFID II, EMIR, DORA, and dozens of other regimes. But the workflows around them, KYC checks, counterparty onboarding, renewal tracking, are increasingly happening away from the desk.
